Google has announced that it is rolling out new editing features for Google Photos web users. These features are only available to Google One member
Google has announced an update to the web version of Google Photos that brings exciting new editing features for Google One members. These features allow users to make detailed adjustments to their photos directly in their web browser. Previously, you could already do extensive editing on your phone using Google Photos, but now some of those editing tools are available on your computer as well.

New Google Photos Editing Features:

With the new tools, you can enhance your photos in a variety of ways. You can adjust the blurriness of the background, change the contrast and hue of the sky, modify the lighting conditions in portraits, de-saturate the background to emphasize your subject and adjust the brightness and contrast of HDR can be fine-tuned. It's important to note that there are still more editing options available on Google Photos for your phone, including advanced features like Magic Eraser. The web version offers a smaller set of features in comparison. Still, if you prefer editing on your computer and want more than just basic filters or brightness/contrast adjustments, you now have that option.

New editing features include:

Background blur: You can now adjust the amount of blur in the background of your photos. This is a great way to make your subject stand out more.

Sky: You can now change the color and contrast of the sky in your photos. This is a great way to make your photos look more dramatic or colorful.

Portrait light: You can now adjust the position and brightness of the light in your portrait photos. This is a great way to improve the look of your selfies and other portrait photos.

Color focus: You can now desaturate the background of your photos while keeping the foreground in color. This is a great way to make your subject stand out even more.

HDR: You can now adjust the brightness and contrast of your photos to create a more balanced look.
These new editing features are a welcome addition to Google Photos web. They make it easier for Google One members to edit their photos without having to download them to their computers.

Requirements

If you're a Google One member, you can expect to see these new editing tools over the next few days. Keep in mind, however, that your computer must have at least 4GB of RAM and an updated browser to use these features. Although Google hasn't specified the exact browser requirements, it's probably referencing a recent version of Chrome.

To use the new editing features, you will need to:

  1. Go to the Google Photos website and sign in to your account.
  2. Click on the photo that you want to edit.
  3. Click on the "Edit" button.
  4. Click on the "More tools" button.
  5. Select the editing feature that you want to use.
  6. Make your desired changes.
